Itasca County Historical Society–
In 1948 a group of concerned citizens realized that, in fast-changing times, there was a need to preserve the rich and intriguing history of Itasca County. Thus was formed the Itasca County Historical Society (ICHS).

The History of Itasca County– The County is Organized
When Minnesota became a state in 1858, the vast area above Pokegama Lake was an untraveled wilderness of dismal swamps, sparkling lakes, and towering pine, known for almost two centuries only to a few explorers, fur traders and missionaries.
Grand Rapids Amateur Hockey Association– “Thousands of boys and girls have moved through the programs developed and sponsored by the Grand Rapids Amateur Hockey Association. Hundreds of volunteer coaches have invested in the development of players and worked for the success of every child. Today GRAHA and its volunteers serve 411 players, and have developed a storied regional system of excellent hockey.”
